I’m Christie Denomme, the owner of Lemon Life Housekeeping.
Before we dive too deep into the business side of things, I’d like to share a little bit about who and I am and the journey that lead me here. After all, I believe it’s so important for you to get to know the person that you’re inviting in to help take care of your home.
I’d been working in the residential cleaning industry independently for more than 10 years. During college and university, it was a flexible gig that I could work around an ever-changing class schedule and once I entered the job market, I found myself unable to give up my wonderful clients. While balancing a 9 to 5 job in the marketing industry with maintaining my housekeeping clients, I started noticing a shift in my career ambitions. I was no longer dreaming of climbing the corporate ladder but rather envisioning a future where I owned my time and had more control over when and where I worked. Not to mention, how strongly I struggled with being strapped to a desk 40 hours a week! So, I took a leap of faith and walked away from the ‘perfect’ job to start my own business – and Lemon Life Housekeeping was born.
I’m passionate about clean spaces and I truly believe that our minds are more clear and stress levels decrease when our homes are in order and well maintained. I understand that life is busy, and often times, cleaning your home simply isn’t at the top of the priority list. How can it be when you’re balancing deadlines, getting the kids to all their appointments and activities and investing time with your partner, family and friends? There are only so many hours in a week and it’s incredibly hard to do it all without a little help.
I thrive on knowing that my work has a direct and positive impact on my clients’ lives. I get an incredible sense of satisfaction when I leave a freshly cleaned home knowing that the members of that household will have extra time to enjoy each other and the hobbies that are most important to them.
But work-life aside, and for the sake of getting a little more personal, here are a few of my other loves and passions: being a sibling to an incredible guy with special needs, attending local YQG festivals and events, gallivanting around our sister-city Detroit, traveling to the Netherlands to visit family, sampling locally made craft beer and wine and binging more often than I should on a good Netflix marathon (hello, Outlander!). Lastly, and certainly most importantly, I’m a new member of the Mama Sisterhood. Becoming a mom has been the most profound experience and it has changed me ways that I never could have imagined. (More on this under the Lemon Love Project tab).
Thank you for visiting us here and taking the time to get to know me. I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you and your crew!
